AMD's most cheap Zen 3 CPU, the Ryzen 5 5600X, is weak to $280
As things currently stand, the Ryzen 5 5600X is AMD's least expensive desktop processor within the Zen 3 family, and it just got even cheaper—you can buy one for $279.99 from Antonline (via the site's eBay account).
That's non a gigantic discount by any stretch, though upwards until of late, this chip all but always oversubscribed at its list $299.99 list price. Or higher, depending on the vender—Antonline is charging $319.99 if buying direct from its website sort o than finished its eBay auction.
Let's talk specs. The Ryzen 5 5600X sports six cores and 12 threads, runs at 3.7GHz (base) to 4.6GHz (max boost), and has 32MB of L3 cache. And because it is a Zen 3 CPU, you get access to PCI State 4.0 connectivity (on a supported platform) to take full advantage of the best and quickest SSDs that have speeds up to roughly 7,000MB/s.
So what are you absent out happening by not opting for a Zen 3 Central processing unit with more cores and threads? In gaming, not much—this is one of the primo CPUs for gaming. As we highlighted in our limited review, that is where the 5600X genuinely shines. For the most part, gaming functioning is parallel to the Ryzen 7 5800X and even the Ryzen 9 5950X when all else is equal (on that point are exceptions, of course).
Where having additional cores and threads pays more meaningful dividends is in tasks like 3D rendering, video encoding, moving, so forth. If you're strictly interested in gaming, though, this is a extraordinary chip. It's also the alone Zen 3 processor to descend bundled with a cooler, which adds to the note value proposition.
